How earning works

  1. List it in minutes

Add a few photos, set your daily price, describe what is included. Free to list, no fees until you earn.

  2. Approve requests

Renters are ID-verified before they can book. You approve each request and agree a pickup time.

  3. Get paid

Payment is held securely and released to you once you confirm the gear came back. You keep 85%. The 15% NearMe keeps pays the card processing, the ID check on every renter, and the cost of running a claim if one ever comes up. Nothing is charged before a rental completes.

Questions, answered

How much can I earn?

You set your own daily rate, so it comes down to the item and how often it goes out. As a guide, small items list from around $12 a day and pro camera kits up to about $110. You keep 85% of the rental price on every completed booking. The 15% NearMe keeps pays the card processing, the ID check on every renter, and the cost of running a claim if one ever comes up.

Is my gear protected?

Every renter completes a government-ID check before they can book, and agrees that if your item is not returned or comes back damaged, they can be charged up to its declared value, capped at $2,000. NearMe is not an insurer, and we are working with insurers now to add cover as the platform grows. Today your protection is the ID check plus that agreement, so photograph items at pickup and return; the app has a place for these photos on every booking.

How do I get paid?

Payments run through Stripe. The renter pays upfront, the money is held securely, and your payout is released once you confirm the gear came back.

What can I list?

Surfboards, camping gear, bikes, power tools, cameras. Anything useful that is sitting idle and safe to lend.

Is it free to list?

Yes. Listing costs nothing and there is no monthly fee. NearMe only earns when you do: 15% when a rental completes, and nothing before that. If your gear never goes out, it never costs you anything.
